I see Civil War II isn't done yet (there are two more issues left) - that means that, as happened in the US originals, Champions will be appearing before the end of the event.

Avengers Universe is really strong. It's been a great 2-3 years for the Avengers, I've really enjoyed the tales.

I like Wolverine and Deadpool, but I am concerned about the overexposure of Deadpool. I get it, one reply to my letter talked about how Deadpool stories result in higher sales. But not only does he have his own title, and occupy two thirds of W&D, but he's often in Astonishing Spider-Man, too. Like Harley Quinn at DC, he seems to be everywhere.

I didn't enjoy his team-ups with Spidey (too similar in personality, perhaps?), but as he occupies two thirds of W&D, and has his own title, I'd much rather see Astonishing Spider-Man give a slot to another Spidey title, whether it be Silk, Spider-Woman, a classic strip, etc.

By the time I've read Wolverine & Deadpool, and Deadpool Unleashed, I have little appetite for yet another Deadpool story.

Any great character is in danger of overexposure. I like the Punisher, but I remember the mid-90s, when he seemed to appear almost everywhere. Same with Wolverine back then, too.

Marvel with exploit a character as much as they think the market will allow. Personally, I can't stand Deadpool, or Wolverine, but thought the films were watchable.

From a practical point of view I think this time next year there will be less Deadpool material in the CE's. I believe he's about to leave the Avengers and I think Mercs for money has been cancelled. I do wonder if Wolverine and Deadpool will go back to two thirds Wolverine and maybe Spider-Man/Deadpool might move over to DU, as there are plenty of Spidey spinoffs in comparison to deadpool one. If Panini are insisting on the main Deadpool story running in the Wolverine mag that doesn't leave lots of current spin offs for DU. We'll see anyway I'm sure there are more on the way following the film sequel

You're right.

I do wonder whether it could result in a drop in sales. Not solely because of me, but on the CE Facebook pages, and in various letters, people feel the same. In the latest Wolverine & Deadpool issue, one letter expresses similar sentiments to mine; letters to Astonishing Spider-Man have expressed such sentiments, too.

It's like I may at least give up Astonishing Spider-Man for a few months once the Spidey/Deadpool strip returns. I can buy the TPBs of any big stories like "The Clone Conspiracy". I don't mind Deadpool occupying two-thirds of W&D - and I enjoy the stories they're reprinting in Deadpool Unleashed. But I don't have the appetite to pick up Astonishing Spider-Man whilst Deadpool is over there, not just because I'm not enjoying the Spidey/Deadpool stories, but because it's just too much of a good thing.

Sales are an indicator, I know. But the overexposure of a popular character can become a double-edged sword. Kudos to Panini for having a letters page, and a FB page, but there seem to be more and more folk questioning the need for Deadpool to be ubiquitous. Personally, I'd rather see another spider-character given the slot in Astonishing Spider-Man rather than Spidey/Deadpool.

Panini are fairly restricted by what Marvel put out really but, yes, I'd agree there will be changes next year due to what's available.

Everyone's mileage will vary, of course.

I'm happy with a Deadpool CE and him occupying two-thirds of W&D. But the slot in Astonishing Spider-Man is a step too far for me.

I was (am?) a huge fan of Punisher. And Wolverine. But in the 90s, they felt like they were being overexposed. Even the best are in danger of being overexposed. Sometimes less is more.

None of this is a criticism of Panini, sales and popularity must dictate what is included in their CEs, but there's a risk of lower sales over time if people become fed up with a character. And like I said previously, I do see such comments in the letters pages and via Facebook posts.

It's also a case of having to use whatever's available to fill a fortnightly 76 page Spider-Man comic. It burns up a lot of material very quickly.

Maybe Deadpool's spot in Wolverine and Deadpool could be given to something else, with the main Deadpool series moving to Unleashed? With X-Men Blue and Gold both being twice a month, there won't be any room for anything else in Essential X-Men (and there's currently eight other X books) unless that also goes fortnightly. So W&D could be renamed Wolverine and the X-Men and used for some of the others (Astonishing X-Men seems to be important).

Yes, bought mine on Thursday, David. Best to check your shops again, and ask why if they don't have them.

ESX won't go fortnightly unless sales deserve it, James.
