Preview: SCREAM! AND MISTY HALLOWEEN SPECIAL

Maximum Chill-Power! My thanks to Rebellion for a PDF preview of the special that will arrive in newsagents and comic shops this Wednesday, 18th October. Newsagents will have the Scream dominant cover, whilst comic shops will have the Misty variant. The interiors of both versions are identical.

It's a very slickly produced 52 page comic, with some great artwork from veterans such as the amazing John Stokes to fantastic newcomers such as DaNi. There's a few very unexpected surprises too! I really hope it sells well so there'll be more next year.

I bought mine from my local Smiths but the barcode wouldn't scan because they hadn't put it into their system! I've heard from other people that their branches of Smiths don't have it. Publishers REALLY need to have words with WH Smith as things like this happen far too often.

There's no chance of expanding comics on the High Street due to cock ups like this.

My local WHSmiths had no idea what I was talking about when I aksed them about it, nothing on their systems. Though this is the Smiths that still doesn't stock Batman comics since the title change a year or two back.
Luckily a random little no name post office near me happened to have it in stock.
Considering Smiths are the only stores that stock the more 'adult' comics like 2000AD, Marvel and DC in most place, the publishers really need to sort out how badly Smiths actually stock their comics.

Yes, publishers need to sit down with Smiths and address their attitudes to comics for older readers. Some branches won't even display those comics, putting them on a shelf behind the counter, like cigarettes. (They claim it's because readers will steal them otherwise. An insult to all of us who buy them!)
